Our priorities

We at the Maine Children's Alliance have spent 25 years publishing data and fostering policy discussions and decisions to improve the lives of children, youth, and families. The data we publish and utilize is solid, but data alone is not enough.

Maine kids need a strong, effective voice to speak to their needs in policy debates, whether in education, health, or basic food and housing needs. Your generous donation can help us remain strong.

Early Care and Education

The early years are a critical developmental period in a child’s life – they lay the foundation for future cognitive, social and emotional development.

Family Economic & Food Security

With responsible planning today, we can create an economy that reflects our values, ensures good paying jobs for Maine workers, and provides healthy futures for our children.

Health, Safety & Well-being

Maine children who are safe and healthy can grow up to become healthy, capable Maine adults. This is why making sure Maine children have a safe, permanent home, access to affordable, quality preventative physical, oral and mental health care early on is critical.

KIDS COUNT

MCA is proud to be part of the national KIDS COUNT project, a state-by-state effort funded by the Annie E. Casey Foundation to track the status of child well-being across the country.
