Right now, federal cuts to programs that help children grow up safe and healthy are a threat to their present and future well-being. These proposed cuts jeopardize critical services like health care, early childhood education, food assistance, and a variety of family support programs. Every family in every community across Maine would be hurt by lack of access to these critical programs and services.
In this moment of fear and uncertainty, the Maine Children’s Alliance is standing even stronger as a trusted, leading voice in advocating for our kids.
For over 30 years, we’ve worked tirelessly to ensure that every child in Maine can thrive—from the youngest infants to teens making the transition into adulthood. Through research and data, advocacy, and coalition-building, we are not only defending what’s at risk—we are committed to shaping a stronger, more equitable future for all children in our state.
But we cannot do it alone.
Your support is more important now than ever. With your help, we can:
Push back against harmful policy proposals and fight for what’s right for Maine children and families.
Provide lawmakers with the data, expertise, and experiences of families and insight they need to make informed, child-centered decisions.
Amplify the voices of those most impacted—ensuring every child has a champion.
We are proud to lead the charge—but leadership demands resources. And that’s why we are reaching out to you today.
Please consider making a gift to the Maine Children’s Alliance today. Your support fuels our work, strengthens our impact, and protects the future we all believe in—a Maine where every child can grow, learn, and lead a life full of promise.
In challenging times, your commitment gives us hope. Thank you for standing with us—and with Maine’s children.

To submit testimony in writing or live at a public hearing, go to the testimony portal. To submit written testimony only, upload the document. To testify live, upload your testimony, and check the box that says “I would like to present testimony live.” If you do not have written testimony, just check the box. You will receive a confirmation email with a Zoom link to join at the date and time of the public hearing for the legislation. When it’s your turn to testify, you will be moved into the Zoom room. If you miss the date for the public hearing, but still want to offer testimony, or want to submit your testimony after testifying live, you can still use the portal to submit testimony, which will then be distributed to the members of the committee.
